WHO ARE WE?

  We are 363 members with varied backgrounds, histories and understandings of faith. We have members who grew up in churches of other denominations, members who grew up in our church and members who had no church affiliation before joining us. We believe that it is the right, priviledge and responsibility of each individual to define their own personal faith.

We will trust the presence of God, the grace of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit to guide us.

Being conscious of our own body language, we will listen carefully and respectfully to trulyhear what another person is saying.

We will speak in the first person and from factual information, reflecting back what we have heard in order to confirm our understanding.

We will speak respectfully to each other and listen to understand; though we might not agree.

We will affirm the merits of ideas different from our own, while at the same time being lovingly honest with one another.

We will each utilize our own gifts for ministry. We will be mutually supportive to one another in our role as pastors, staff, leaders or congregation members.

We will honor the covenant by being accountable to one another.
 

STATEMENT OF FAITH
OF THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST
 
We believe in you, O God, Eternal Spirit, God of our Savior Jesus Christ and
our God, and to your deeds we testify:

You call the worlds into being, create persons in your own image
and set before each one the ways of life and death.

You seek in holy love to save all people from aimlessness and sin.

You judge people and nations by your righteous will declared through prophets and apostles.

In Jesus Christ, the man of Nazareth, our crucified and risen Savior,
you have come to us and shared our common lot,
conquering sin and death and reconciling the world to yourself.

You bestow upon us your Holy Spirit, creating and renewing the church of Jesus Christ,
binding in covenant faithful people of all ages, tongues and races.

You call us into your church to accept the cost and joy of discipleship,
to be your servants in the service of others,
to proclaim the gospel to all the world and resist the powers of evil,
to share in Christ's baptism and eat at his table,
to join him in his passion and victory.

You promise to all who trust you,
forgiveness of sins and fullness of grace,
courage in the struggle for justice and peace,
your presence in trial and rejoicing,
and eternal life in your realm which has no end.

Blessing and honor, glory and power be unto you.

COVENANT

We covenant one with another to seek and respond to the word and the will of God. We purpose to walk together in the ways of the Lord, made known and to be made known to us. We hold it to be the mission of the church to witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ in all the world, while worshiping God and striving for truth, justice, and peace. As did our fathers and mothers, we depend on the Holy Spirit to lead and empower us. We pray for the coming of the kingdom of God, and we look with faith toward the triumph of righteousness and eternal life.
