ReportText:

A short but delightful section of the trail was undertaken by my 7 year old and I (I first went in 1975 and lost track in 1982--a 17 year return!). We started from the base of Gap Mountain, from a parking area on Gap Mountain Road, off Rt 12. (Note: this is VERY HARD to find; there are 2 Gap Mountain roads within a mile of one another: use the one farthest north.)

The trail was well-maintained and reasonably well marked, with only two very slightly challenging rock faces.

Gap Mountain is known for two things: blueberries and spectacular views. Both are memorable and made for a perfect day.

Hike time approximately 35 minutes to summit from parking area.

NOTE: This is a 'locals' secret so be nice, and friendly and act like you've been there before. People are very friendly but aren't hip to 'outsiders'. Act like a guest and you will have a great time:-)
