I hiked this section on 4 June 1999. The trail has been rerouted from the White Road Ext. NORTH to the Fifth Massachusetts Tpk. It intersects this road about 200 meters east of the powerline. You follow this wood road east for about 2 miles where it intersects White Rd.

Watch for ATVs along this section. The trail seems to have really taken a beating from them. Lots of muddy trail where ATVs ripped them up and erosion accelerated. Had to step off trail several times to allow groups of ATVs and motorcycles to pass. They were all polite and courteous. Too bad M-M couldn't be designated "foot trail" like AT. There seemed to be plenty of other trails in the area for them. Also watch for big snakes in wet grassy sections.
