I spent 3 days on M-M from Ruggles Stream Shelter in Wendel to Royalston Falls, Memorial Day Weekend 2000. Ranger at Wendel very helpful, allowed me to park at HQ (no charge) and watched vehicle. Water at shelter running well, shelter in good shape, mosquitos moderate (bad in the lowlands). Trail in excellent shape, well blazed. Hike along railroad tracks a little scary following blazes on the side of rails. Came out on RTE. 2, Farley. Disappointed to see store closed on RTE 2 in Farley, But house right across RTE 2 with carport and old Willey Jeep in it belongs to "Deacon Joe", local Scout Master. He drove us 2 miles down RTE.2 to General Store for goodies. You can have the crowded big trails, I loved having complete solitude seeing no other hikers on M-M first 2 days.
