A perennial wet spot has been made passable by the construction of bog bridging. This area is located about 1/2 mile north of the summit of Mt. Lincoln in Cadwell Memorial Forest which is owned and managed by the U-Mass/Amherst Dept. of Forestry and Wildlife.

At 2.2 miles in this section the trail description is wrong and the trail no longer follows Buffam Brooks, because it is a Amherst water supply. The reclocation was not reported in time for the 9th edition of the guide book and the hiker should follow blazing to reach North Valley road.
