NOTES: In October 1669 Pieter was assaulted by Gerrit Croesen and later
appeared bloodied at a friend's house. Pieter told the constable that
if "hee would not do him justice, hee would kill Gerrit." Pieter took
the Oath of Allegiance in September 1697 as a resident and native of
Brooklyn. He was cut off from his father's will with one shilling "for
disobedience" but his children inherited his share. He was among the
soldiers from King's County Seat sent in 1690 to Albany. He must have
followed his sons who settled in New Jersey, for on 10 October 1700,
Peter Brouwer of East New Jersey conveyed his share of his father's
mill to Abraham and Nicholas Brouwer of Brooklyn: - "whereas there is
a corn mill in Brooklyn, called Gowanus Mill, bounded by land of Jacob
Hansen, Hendrick Vechte, Wolkert Bries, formerly in the tenure of Adam
Brouwer, deceased, true owner as by a conveyance from Tunis Nuysen,
deceased, and heirs of Jan Evertse Bout, deceased, etc. This indenture
witnesseth that said Peter Brouwer is the eldest son of said Adam
	Brouwer, deceased, etc."
