    Notes:  Jacob had settled in Beverwyck as early as 28 July 1657, on which
	    date the Sheriff brought a suit against him for having assaulted
	    Meuwes Hogeboom and having split his face open from his forehead to
	    his under lip with his knife.  He was fined 300 guilders and ordered
	    to pay for loss of time, board, and surgical attendence.  In May
	    1664, he and John Davits were Commissioners to negotiate a treaty of
	    peace between the Mohawks and the Northern Indians (or Abenaquis),
	    which they successfully concluded at Narrington on 24 May 1664.  In
	    Apr. 1667, he purchased a house and lot in Albany owned by Willem
	    Janse Schudt, and another 25 July 1684 owned by Laurence Van Alen.
	    On 24 Aug. 1685, he obtained a license to travel, trade, and hunt
	    among the Indians, as far as Wagganasse and Attawaasse (Ottawas),
	    with a company of thirty men.  He was prob. the Captain Loquerman,
	    who, with Arian Abrahamse Schuyler and Jean Blaquerd, were detained
	    as hostages in Canada by Gov. Denonville, while awaiting a reply to
	    his letter to Gov. Dongan, dated 2 Oct. 1687, in which he complained
	    of the infraction of the late treaty of peace by the English.

 Children:  1.  CAATJE LOOCKERMANS, had no birth or baptismal record and was b.
		abt. Aug. 1669.  On 2 Apr. 1684, prob. in Albany, Albany Co.,
		NY, she mar. WESSEL TEN BROEK, who was b. 7 Apr. 1664 in
		Albany, a son of Dirck Wesselse Ten Broeck and Chrystyna Van
		Buren.  Wessel died 27 May 1747.  Caatje died 6 Jan. 1729.

		1645 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New Amsterdam.  Wit.:  de.
		Hr. Willem Kieft, gouvneur, and Hester Jans.  On 12 July 1662
		at the Reformed Dutch Church of New Amsterdam she mar. JEREMIAS
		VAN RENSSELAER, the Third Patroon, who had no birth or baptismal
		record, a son of Kilian Van Rensselaer and Anna Van Wely.

	    3.  JOHANNES VAN CORTLANDT, was b. 11 Oct. 1648 and bap. 25 Oct. 1648
		at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York.  Wit.:  Jillis
		Verbrugge, Jacob Van Couwenhooven, Roelof Janszen, Pieter
		Loockermans, and Sytie Stephens.

	    4.  FYTIE VAN CORTLANDT, was bap. 4 June 1651 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church in New York.  Wit.:  Marritie Loockermans.   She mar.
		ANDRIES TELLER.

	    5.  CATHERINE VAN CORTLANDT, was b. 25 Oct. 1652 and bap. 5 Jan 1653
		at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York.  Wit.:  Jan Gilliszen
		Van Brug and Elsje Van der Veen. She mar. as her first husband
		JOHANNES DERVELL.  She mar. as her second husband and as his
		second wife De. Hr. FREDERICK PHILIPSE, widower of Margariet
		Hardenbroeck, who was bap. 8 mar. 1627 in Bolsward, Holland, a
		son of Philippus Douwes and Ebel/Ibel Fredricks.

	    6.  CORNELIA VAN CORTLANDT, was b. 21 Nov. 1655 and bap. 28 Nov. 1655
		at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York.  Wit.:  Pieter Van
		Veen and Marritje Loockermans.  On 12 July 1682 at the Reformed
		Dutch Church of New York she mar. BRANDT SCHUYLER, who was b.
		18 Dec. 1659, a son of Philip Pieterse Schuyler and Margareta Van
		Slechtenhorst.

	    7.  JACOBUS VAN CORTLANDT, was b. and bap. 7 July 1658 at the Reformed
		Dutch Church of New York.  Wit.:  Pieter Corn. Van der Veen, Johan
		Van Brug, and Cornelia Lubberts.  On 31 May 1601 (with license
		dated 7 May 1691) at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York with
		Domine Henricus Selyns officiating he mar. EVA DE VRIES PHILIPSE,
		who was bap. 3 Oct. 1660 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York
		(wit.:  Jacobus Backer, Hillegond Megapolensis, and Lysbeth
		Harings), a dau. of Pieter Rudolphus De Vries and Margariet
		Hardenbroeck, and the adopted dau. of Frederick Philipse.

	    2.  JANNETJE LOOCKERMANS, was b. 23 Sept. 1643 and bap. 27 Sept.
		1643 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New Amsterdam.  Wit.:
		Jacob Wolfertszen, Olof Stephenszen Van Courtlt., Hester Jans,
		Jannetje Seth and Marritje Philips.  On 12 Feb. 1667 at the
		Reformed Dutch Church of New York she mar. Dr. HANS KIERSTEDE,
		who was bap. 21 Sept. 1644 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New
		Amsterdam (wit.:  De. Hr. Willem Kieft, gouvneur, Michel ter
		Oyken, Fiscael, D. Everhardus Bogardus, Tryntje Jonas, and
		Marritje Thymens), a son of Dr. Hans Kierstede and Sara Roelofs.

	    3.  JACOB LOOCKERMANS, was bap. 17 Mar. 1652 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of New Amsterdam.  Wit.:  Jacob Van Couwenhoven, Pieter
		Prins, and Annetje Loockermans.  On 29 Jan. 1678/79 he mar. as
		his first wife HELENA KETIN.  He mar. as his second wife
		DOROTHY (__).  Jacob died 17 Aug. 1730.
