    Notes:  At the time of his first marriage, Gerrit was called "y.m. Van
	    Haerlam" and Aeltje was called "y.d. Van Uytrecht"

	    Tryntje was said to have married soon after her arrival in this
	    country.

	    The will of Gerrit Jansen Roos, of the city of New York, carpenter,
	    was written 3 Sept. 1697, and in it he left his eldest son, Peter
	    Roos, living at Utrecht, in Holland, £100, and a silver tumbler
	    each to Peter Gerritse Roos, the eldest son of his son, Peter Roos,
	    and to Gerritt Jansen Roos, the eldest son of Johannes Roos.  He
	    bequeathed a silver tumbler to Gerrit Provost, the eldest son of his
	    eldest daughter, Cornelia, wife of Elias Provost.  He also provided
	    for the maintainance of Gerritt Jacobus Roos and Aeltie Roos,
	    children of his deceased son Johanes Roos, "until they are able to
	    maintain themselves, and they are to be put to school until such
	    time as they shall have learned to read and write, and they are to
	    have £78 which I have of their father's estate."  The remainder of
	    the estate was divided into five parts, and given to his son Peter,
	    the children of his son Johannes, deceased, to his daughter
	    Cornelia, wife of Jacob De Maree, to his daughter Affie, wife of
	    Johannes Van Gelder, and "to Annatie Elswaert, daughter of my
	    daughter Aeltie procured by John Elswaert."  The children of
	    Johannes Roos, deceased, were to have the proceeds from the sale of
	    Johannes' house in Albany as well as a lot in the same county
	    amounting to £78.  The executors were Jacob De Maree, Johannes Van
	    Gelder and Jacob Boelen.  No witnesses were given.  Gerrit died bef.
	    15 Sept. 1698 when an inventory of his estate was taken.  The will
	    was proved 12 Oct. 1698.

 Children:  1.  PIETER ROOS, was bap. 19 Jan. 1653 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of New Amsterdam.  Wit.:  Abraham Planck, Jan Vigne, and Maria
		Planck.  On 16 Feb. 1674 at the Janskerk at Utrecht he mar. as
		his first wife ELISABETH VAN'T HORSKEN, who was bap. 9 Apr. 1654
		in Utrecht, a dau. of Heurt Petersz van't Horskens and Aeltje
		Jans van Issem.  Elisabeth was buried 5 June 1697 in the
		Jacobikerk.  With license dated 21 Sept. 1704 he mar. as his
		second wife and as her second husband WILLEMPTJE PIETERS
		LUYSTER, who was the widow of Gerrit Coerten (Van Voorhees), a
		dau. of Pieter Cornelis Luyster and Aeltje Tyssen.  Pieter's
		will, written 1 Apr. 1711, was proved 13 May 1713.

	    2.  CORNELIA ROOS, was bap. 1 Jan. 1655 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of New Amsterdam.  Wit.:  Emmetie Van der Sluys.  On 3
		Nov. 1672 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York she mar. (as
		"j.d. Van N Jorck") as her first husband ELIAS PROVOOST, "j.m.
		Van't huys te hoop in Engelandt," who was bap. with his twin
		Benjamin 17 June 1646 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New
		Amsterdam (wit. for both Elias and Benjamin: Corn. Van
		Tienhoven, "Secrts.", Olof Stephenszen Van Courtlant, Anneken
		Loockerman, Jillis Van Brug, Arent Koos, "en syn huys vr."), a
		son of David Provoost and Grietje Jellis Verbrugge.  Cornelia
		joined the Reformed Dutch Church of New York on 29 Aug. 1672.
		She was referred to as "widow" in 1686.  On 27 Nov. 1692 at the
		Reformed Dutch Church of New York she mar. as her second husband
		JACQUES MERIE (DE MAREE), "j.m. Van Rochel".

	    3.  JOHANNES ROOS, was bap. 5 Nov. 1656 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of New Amsterdam.  Wit.:  Abigail Planck.  He apparently moved
		to Albany where he mar. CORNELIA (__).  He was referred to as
		deceased in his father's will, dated 3 Sept. 1697.

	    4.  GELYN ROOS, was bap. 31 Oct. 1660 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of New Amsterdam.  Wit.:  Boele Roellofs and Bayken Arents.  He
		had no further record.

	    5.  DAVID ROOS, was bap. 8 Apr. 1663 at the Reformed Dutch Church of
		New Amsterdam.  Wit.:  Boele Roellofsz and Marritje Gelyns.  He
		had no further record.

	    6.  AEFJE ROOS, was bap. 10 Apr. 1665 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of New York.  Wit.:  Boele Roellofsz and Emmetje van der Sluys.
		On 19 May 1686 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York she mar.
		JOHANNIS VAN GELDER, who was bap. 27 Aug. 1664 at the Reformed
		Dutch Church of New Amsterdam (wit.: Thomas Laurenszen and
		Elisabeth Van der Liphorst), a son of Jan Van Gelder and
		Tanneken Monenac.  Aefje was admitted to the Reformed Dutch
		Church of New York 29 Aug. 1683; Johannis was admitted 3 Mar.
		1697.  Johannis was a turner or carpenter and probably a cabinet
		maker.  In the 1703 census he lived in the West Ward and had a
		family of nine living in his house.  He was elected to office
		by the Common Council several times.  Aefje was living in 1728.

	    7.  AELTJE ROOS, was bap. 27 Feb. 1667 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of New York.  Wit.:  Jan Vigne and Tryntje Roellofsz.  On 9
		Sept. 1685 she mar. (as "j.d. als boven") as his first wife
		JOHANNES ELSWORTH, "j.m. Van N. Yorck," who was bap. 10 Dec.
		1664 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York (wit.:  Hillegond
		Joris), a son of Theophilus Elsworth and Annetje Jans.  She died
		prior to 6 June 1696, on which he date her husband mar. as his
		second wife Anna Pieters.

    Notes:  On 9 May 1686 Hendrickje married as her second husband Jacobus Kip.

	    The marriage record describes Guleyn as "j.m. Van N. Yorke" and
	    Hendrickje as "j.d. Van Aernhem," and they were married by the Rev.
	    Samuel Drisius.  In his youth, Guleyn was bound out apprentice to
	    Allard Anthony.  He joined the Reformed Dutch Church of New York 3
	    December 1672.

		Church of New York by Dom. Samuel Drissius.  Wit.:  Johannes Van
		Brug, Nicolaes de Carmen, and Marritie Verplancken.  On 26 Oct.
		1691 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York he mar. (as "j.m.
		Van N. Yorck") as her first husband ARIAENTIE BAYARD, "j.d. Van
		Bergen".  Samuel died at sea, 20 Nov. 1698. while on a voyage
		from Curacoa to Jamaica.  He was buried on the Island of
		Jamaica.  About 1704 Ariaentie mar. as her second husband Samuel
		Warmstall.

	    2.  JACOBUS VERPLANCK, was b. 1 Dec. 1671.  On 8 Sept. 1691 at the
		Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, with the Rev. Goodwirkeis
		Delius officiating, he mar. MARGARITA SCHUYLER, who was a dau.
		of Philip Pieterse Schuyler and Margaretta Van Slichtenhorst.
		He lived in New York City where he died 30 Oct. 1699 and was
		buried in the Church.  After his death Margarita returned to
		Albany and on 2 Nov. 1701 at the Reformed Dutch Church there she
		mar. John Collins.  Margarite died 15 May 1748 and was buried 16
		May 1748 in Albany.

	    3.  ABRAHAM VERPLANCK, was bap. 24 Jan. 1674 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of New York.  Wit.:  Francois Rombout, Stephanus Van
		Courtlant, and Jannetie Jans.  On 7 June 1695 he sailed in the
		Brother's Adventure as mate, for Newfoundland.  He left there
		18 July 1695 but was never heard from again.

	    4.  JOHN VERPLANCK, was b. 23 Mar. 1675/76 and bap. 26 Mar. 1675/76
		at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany.  He died 14 July 1676.

	    5.  BENJAMIN VERPLANCK, was b. 17 Mar. 1677/78 in Albany and bap. 20
		Mar. 1677/78 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany.  He died 4
		Aug. 1678 in New York City and was bur. there 6 Aug. 1678.

	    6.  BENJAMIN VERPLANCK, was b. 20 July 1679 and bap. 27 July 1679.
		at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany.  He died 21 July 1680.

	    7.  ANNA VERPLANCK, was b. 2 Sept. 1680 and bap. 15 Sept. 1680 at
		the Reformed Dutch Church of New York.  Wit.:  David Schuyler,
		Pieter de La Noy, and Geertruyd Schuyler.  About 1699 she mar.
		ANDRIES TELLER, who had no birth or baptismal record, a son of
		Andries Teller and Fytie Van Cortlandt.  Anna died in 1702.

	    8.  GELINA VERPLANCK, was b. 22 June 1684 and bap. 29 June 1684 at
		the Reformed Dutch Church of New York.  Wit.:  Pieter Jacobszen
		Marius, Mr. Hartman Wessels, and Elisabeth de Potter.  On 24
		Aug. 1697, Jacobus Kip and "Honorica" (her mother and
		stepfather) gave her a negro wench called Duffra.  Gelina died
		30 Nov. 1701 and was buried 4 Dec. 1701.

 Children:  1.  PIETER DAVIDTSE SCHUYLER, was b. 18 Apr. 1659.  He mar. as her
		second husband ALIDA VAN SCHLICHTENHORST, widow of Gerrit
		Goosense Van Schaick, and a dau. of Barent Arentse Van
		Schlichtenhorst.  Pieter was a trader and was living in
		Claverack in 1694.  In 1685 he was commissioned judge of the
		Court of Oyer and Terminer for Albany County.  He was referred
		to as deceased in May 1696 when his widow applied to have the
		court name his two brothers, Abraham and David Schuyler,
		guardians of her children during their minority.  Alida died 25
		Dec. 1747.

            2.  GEERTRUY DAVIDTSE SCHUYLER, was b. 9 Sept. 1661.  She mar.
		WILLEM CLAES GROESBECK, who was a son of Nicolaas Groesbeck
		(alias Van Ritterdam) and Elizabeth Stephens.  He was mentioned
		in his father's will, dated 3 Jan. 1706/07.  Willem was bur. 28
		Dec. 1722.

           3.  ABRAHAM DAVIDTSE SCHUYLER, was b. 16 Aug. 1663.  On 10 Nov. 1690
		(according to the family Bible) or 11 Nov. 1691 (according to
		the Reformed Church records) at the Reformed Dutch Church of
		Albany he mar. GEERTRUY TEN BROEK, who was b. 18 Dec. 1678 in
		Albany a dau. of Dirck Wesselse Ten Broeck and Christyna Van
		Buren.  In 1709 he resided in Albany upon a lot which his father
		had occupied in the south corner of Broadway and Steuben Street.
		In 1684 he was master of the sloop Hopewell plying between
		New York City and Albany.  In his will dated 15 Dec. 1709 he
		mentioned his wife, 5 children, and his brothers-in-law Wessel
		and Samuel Ten Broek.  He died 9 July 1726 at Sonnock's Land.
		Geertruy died sometime after 1738.

	    4.  MARIA DAVIDTSE SCHUYLER, was b. 29 Sept. 1666.  On 3 Feb. 1689
		at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany she mar. HENDRICK VAN
		DYCK, who was b. abt. 1665 in Albany, a son of Cornelis Van Dyck
		and Elizabeth Laeckens.  Hendrick was a medical doctor who died
		through drowning 11 Apr. 1707 at Albany.  Maria and her younger
		children removed to Kinderhook, Columbia Co., NY, in 1718.  She
		died there 7 June 1742.

            5.  DAVID DAVIDTSE SCHUYLER, was b. 11 June 1669.  On 1 Jan. 1694 at
		the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany he mar. ELSJE RUTGERS, who
		was b. in 1673 in Albany, a dau. of Harmen Rutgers and Catarina
		De Hooges.  Elsje died prior to 3 June 1704, on which date David
		mar. as his second wife SUSANNA WENDELL.  David was Mayor of
		Albany in 1706-07.  He died there 16 Dec. 1715.

	    6.  MYNDERT DAVIDTSE SCHUYLER, was b. 16 Jan. 1672.  On 26 Oct. 1698
		at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York, with Dom. Hendricus
		Selyns officiating, he mar. RACHEL CUYLER, who was b. abt. 1674
		in Albany, a dau. of Hendrick Cuyler and Annetje Schepmoes.  He
		was a merchant and a captain and Mayor of Albany in 1719-1721
		and 1723-1725.  In 1703 he occupied a lot on the south side of
		State Street, formerly Gerrit Bancker's, the third East from
		South Pearl Street, in Albany.  He died 18 Oct. 1755 and was
		buried 21 Oct. 1755 in the Reformed Dutch Churchyard in Albany.
		Rachel was buried in Albany 24 July 1747.

	    7.  JACOBUS DAVIDTSE SCHUYLER, was b. 14 June 1675.  He mar. as his
		first wife CATALYNTJE WENDELL, who was a dau. of Captain
		Johannes Wendell and Elizabeth Staats.  On 3 June 1704 at the
		Reformed Dutch Church of Albany he mar. as his second wife
		SUSANNA WENDELL, who was b. 15 Feb. 1682, a dau. of Evert
		Wendell and Elizabeth Glen.  Jacobus lived on the lot now on the
		south corner of Broadway and Steuben Street in Albany.  He was
		elected Alderman of the third ward in 1697, and collector of the
		same ward in 1701 where he was re-elected in 1702.  Jacobus died
		22 Mar. 1706/07.  Susanna died in 1747.

            8.  CATLYNE DAVIDTSE SCHUYLER, was b. 14 Jan. 1678 "at five o'clock
		in the morning."  On 11 Apr. 1694 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of Albany she mar. as her first husband JOHANNES ABEEL, who was
		b. abt. 1667, a son of Stoffel Janse Abeel and Neeltje Jans
		Croon.  Johannes died 28 Jan. 1710/11.  On 26 May 1712 at the
		Reformed Dutch Church of Albany she mar. as her second husband
		RUTGER JANSE BLEECKER, who was a son of Jan Janse Bleecker and
		Margaret Rutsen.  Rutger died 4 Aug. 1756 and was buried 5 Aug.
		1756 at the Reformed Dutch Churchyard in Albany.  Catlyne died
		24 Oct. 1747 and was buried 25 Oct. 1747 in Albany.

    Notes:  Melgert was a gun stocker by trade and was an "assistant" under the
	    first charter of the City of Albany, given by Governor Dongan, 22
	    July 1686.  He was also a member of the Governor's Council.  Like
	    his father, he was fond of real estate investments.  The records
	    show that he purchased several lots in the then growing City of
	    Albany, which from a mere trading post to Fort Orange, had become an
	    important and flourishing city.  In 1693 he received a deed from the
	    Reformed Dutch Church conveying rights to water run and saw mill,
	    two acres and assuring to him rights against a mill above him.  His
	    house, like his father's, fronted the Fort in 1675 on the south side
	    of State Street.  Ariaantje died before 29 June 1692, on which date
	    Melgert mar. as his second wife Elizabeth Teller.  Melgert prob.
	    died about 1712.

 Children:  1.  MELGERT VAN DER POEL, was b. abt. 1672 in Albany, Albany Co.,
		NY.  On 17 May 1696 he mar. CATHARINE VAN ALEN, who was b. abt.
		1672, a dau. of Laurens Van Alen and Elbertje Evertse of
		Kinderhook, Columbia Co., NY.  Melgert resided in Kinderhook and
		was a freeholder.  After his marriage, he removed to Poelsburgh,
		Columbia County, NY, on the east bank of the Hudson.  In 1712
		Catherine's father deeded Melgert 60 morgens of land (120
		acres), east of the Hudson River and 12 miles to the south of
		Albany adjoining Deuveltie's Kill.  Melgert died in 1720 and was
		buried in Poelsburgh.  Catharine died in 1724.

	    2.  MARIA VAN DER POEL, had no birth or baptismal record.  On 1 June
		1699 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York she mar. (as "j.d.
		als boven woonende alhier") JACOBUS PROVOOST, "j.m. Van N.
		Albanien woonende achter Koll," a son of Johannes Provoost and
		Sara Staats.  He was from Albany and was a physician and
		"Chirurgen" in New York.  He was admitted Freeman there in 1698.
		He died in 1732 in New York City.

	    3.  TRINKE VAN DER POEL, had no birth or baptismal record.  On 21
		June 1700 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York she poss.
		mar. (as Catharina Van der Poel, "j.d. Van N. Albanien) as her
		first husband PIETER HARDENBROECK, "j.m. geboren omtrent
		Ceulen."  She seems to have had no children by him.  She poss.
		mar. as her second husband JOSIAS OGDEN.

            4.  ABRAHAM VAN DER POEL, had no birth or baptismal record.  On 3
		Jan. 1713 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany he mar.
		ANNEKE VAN DEN BERGH, who was bap. 6 Dec. 1685 at the Reformed
		Dutch Church of Albany, (wit.:  Pieter Schuyler, by Engeltje
		Schuyler), a dau. of Gerrit Gysbertse Van den Bergh and Teuntje
		Gerrits.

	    5.  WYNANT VAN DER POEL, was bap. 14 Oct. 1683 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church in Albany.  wit.:  the father, Gerrit Wynandsz Van der
		Poel, by Catryn W. Van der Berch.  On 8 Sept. 1706 at the
		parsonage in Albany he mar. CATHARINE DE HOOGES, who was bap. 14
		Feb. 1686 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Kingston (wit.:
		Gerrit Cornelisz and Chieltie Cornelisz), a dau. of Johannes De
		Hooges and Margarita Post of Ulster Co., NY.  She was living in
		Claverack at the time of her marriage.  Wynant was a freeholder
		of the First Ward of the City of Albany in 1720.  In 1704 he
		signed to go on board Captain Clavers expidition against a
		French Privateer off the coast.  He moved to Newark, New Jersey
		about 1735 and died in the city 4 Apr. 1750 and was buried in
		the old Newark churchyard.  His gravestone with that of his wife
		is in the family vault of Beach Van Derpoel of Newark.
		Catharina died 12 Jan. 1744 in Newark.

    Notes:  Abigail was alive as of 1728.

	    Isaac lived in Albany where he was an assistant alderman named in
	    the first charter of Albany granted by Governor Dongan, 22 July
	    1686.

	    All children with known baptism dates were baptised at the Reformed
	    Dutch Church of Albany.

		1713 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany he mar. as her first
		husband EMERENTIA PROVOOST, who was bap. 7 Mar. 1683 at the

		Janneken Provoost), a dau. of Elias Provoost and Cornelia Roos.
		Isaac died abt. 1721.

	    3.  JACOB VERPLANCK, was bap. 21 June 1684.  Wit:  father, Jacob Ten
		Eyck, by Ariaantje Verplanck.

	    4.  DIRKJE VERPLANCK, was bap. 19 Sept. 1686.  Wit.:  David
		Schuyler, by Geertje Ten Eyck.

	    5.  JACOB VERPLANCK, was bap. 28 Oct. 1688.  Wit.:  Jacob Ten Eyck,
		the father, by Ariaante Van der Poel.   He mar. (__).

	    6.  GELYN VERPLANCK, was bap. 18 June 1693 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of Albany.  Wit.:  Hendrick Van Dyke and Geertruy
		Kroesbeck.  On 11 Dec. 1724 he mar. ARIAANTJE VAN DER POEL, who
		was bap. 3 Sept. 1699 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany
		(wit.:  Melchert Wynantse Van der Poelen and Abigail Van der
		Vos), a dau. of Melgert Van der Poel and Catharine Van Alen.
		Gelyn died 7 July 1749 and was buried in Albany.

	    7.  DAVID VERPLANCK, was bap. 14 Apr. 1695 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of Albany.  Wit.:  Meindert Schuyler and Margriet
		Verplank.  On 16 July 1723 he mar. as his first wife ARIAANTJE
		COEYMANS, who was b. 19 Oct. 1672, a dau. of Barent Pieterse
		Coeymans and (__) de Vos.  She died without issue.  He mar. as
		his second wife (__) BROUWER, by whom he had one child.  On 10
		Nov. 1752 he mar. as his third wife CATRINA BOOM, by whom he had
		four children.

            8.  CATELYNTJE VERPLANCK, was bap. 19 Jan. 1698 at the Reformed
		Dutch Church of Albany.  Wit.:  David Schuyler and Geertruy
		Schuyler.  On 23 Feb. 1734 at the Reformed Dutch Church of
		Albany she mar. LEENDERT WITBECK, who was bap. 3 July 1692 at
		the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany (wit.:  Frans Winnen and
		Elsje Winnen), a son of Johannes Witbeck and Lysbeth Conyn.

            9.  RACHEL VERPLANCK, was bap. 12 May 1700.  Wit.:  Abraham
		Schuyler, Melchert Van der Poel, Jr., and Racheltje Schuyler.
		On 2 Jan. 1726 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany she mar.
		JAN WINNE, who was bap. 19 Oct. 1707 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of Albany (wit.:  Jan and Aaltje Van Esch), a son of
		Daniel Winne and Dirckje Van Ness.
