Originally designed as a gift for teachers, this is a gift just right for your seder hosts, parents or friends as well. The text from the hagadah, in Hebrew and English, says, "You shall teach your child on that day, saying: 'All of this is because of that which G-d did for me when I went out of Egypt.'" It is sized to wrap half of either a square matzah or a larger shmura matzah. Screenprinted on unbleached cotton, 21" x 21." It comes in a plastic zipper bag for storage. |
Peggy Davis has designed a series of watches with her contemporary Hebrew letters as the numbers. The women's watches have a six-pointed star in the center which is based on one in a 17th-century Venetian ketubah.

The women's watches, 7/8" diameter, is a lovely gift for a Bat Mitzvah or for women of all ages, with a silver-finish metal bezel with a mesh band. The watch bracelets, by Robin Kimball, have pewter links inlaid with intricate polymer clay designs. She is no longer producing the bracelets, and there are only two remaining in stock. Click on the thumbnail illustrations above to see enlarged pictures of these beautiful watches.
The man's watch and desk clock have a star in the center which was created by Peggy from an element of the lettering used in the letters on the watch face.
The watches have a year's guarantee and come with batteries. The battery is not guaranteed.

Baby Amulet
It's been a longstanding Jewish tradition to hang an amulet near a baby's bed, and Peggy's baby amulet is a popular baby gift. Its new design includes the blessings from the bris and naming ceremonies in Hebrew and English. The Hebrew blessings form the shape of the hand. The English translation, the Hebrew word "Shekhinah" (G-d's sheltering presence), the names of the four protective angels and qualities associated with them, surround the hand. Jewish folk tradition has long used the hand shape among the Sephardim and the red color among the Ashkenazim to protect vulnerable individuals from the evil eye. The red illumination patterns (please click on the image to see the patterns in detail) come from medieval manuscripts. The amulet is printed by letterpress, which impresses the ink into the paper, giving the artwork a rich texture. The amulet is printed on a heavyweight, acid-free Mohawk Superfine paper stock and a red ribbon is included in the package. You may choose to attach the ribbon to the paper as a bow or to hang it on the wall, or to tie it on the baby's crib. Many customers request a personalized amulet. The charge for handlettering, done in the upper right and left corners, is $25. It is done in red ink and can include any of the following: the child's English name, Hebrew name (name only or name +daughter/son of...), secular birth date, Hebrew birth date. Baby Amulet, 10" x 13": $35. Please specify for a boy or a girl. |
